Overview

Join Iron Grads, Derek Dyer, for an Intro to Github and learn more about The Iron Yard with our Operations Assistant, Katherine Trammell.

Outcomes

The goal for this talk is to get you familiar enough with git that you find it helpful and not an obstacle like it may seem to some when first using it.

Agenda

We’ll start with what git is and how it or any source control for that matter can make your life as a dev SO much easier. Depending on the comfort level of the audience, we can explore beginning concepts like how to turn a project into a git repository and the differences between Git and Github to branching, forking, and merging.
